Pets

One cow cat. One tiny hedgehog. A surprising amount of personality per square foot.

Animals have a way of quietly becoming part of the emotional architecture of a home.

We currently have one cat, Trinity, and one hedgehog, Toothpick.

Trinity is a black-and-white cow cat with a dramatic sense of timing and the mysterious ability to appear exactly where she is least expected. Like many cats, she operates with the confidence of someone who pays no bills and fears no authority.

Toothpick, our hedgehog, contributes a very different kind of energy to the household: tiny nocturnal wandering, suspicious sniffing, dramatic huffing, and occasional determined attempts to redecorate his enclosure at unreasonable hours.

Pets change the rhythm of a home in small ways. They become part of routines, part of conversations, part of comfort. They sit nearby during difficult days, interrupt work at inconvenient moments, and somehow make ordinary life feel warmer and more alive.

This page will probably grow over time with stories, photos, and the increasingly questionable decisions made by both animals.
