Ordinary life, shared routines, and the people who make a house feel alive.
Family is the center of my life, even when everything else gets noisy.
I’m married, raising two kids, working, balancing responsibilities, trying to keep calendars straight, trying to remember what day it is, and occasionally discovering a science experiment in the refrigerator that nobody wants to claim responsibility for.
A lot of what I write about here is connected to family in one way or another: routines, health, faith, communication, exhaustion, humor, design, stability, and the strange art of trying to hold a household together while everyone is moving in different directions at once.
Our life is not perfectly organized or picture-perfect. It is lived-in. Busy. Sometimes chaotic. Usually funny in hindsight.
There is a lot of love here.
There are also pets, unfinished projects, conversations happening from three rooms away, and at least one person asking where something is while standing directly in front of it.
I do not write about my family in a deeply private way, but they are woven into almost everything that matters to me. They are the reason many ordinary days feel meaningful, even when they are messy.
