• well drained soil, preferably cactus mix
• sunshine
• flowering requires high light levels and cooler winter temperatures
• flowers in yellow, pink, or orange
• grow in containers, rock garden, or coastal/desert areas
• has painful splinter-like glochids and longer spines

Its name is Charlie Brown because it was just a tiny little thing with only a couple of paddles and very un-cared for when I first found it at a box store. Kind of like the tree in Charlie Brown’s Christmas. I felt like I was rescuing it! It’s grown quite a bit since then, although it could still fatten up some more.
